Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Bring-a-Friend Day

Oh, no! The semester has ended!
We had lots of fun playing and doing the activities during the Bring-a-Friend Day.

Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Video Games

When we studied the lessons about video games, we formed groups to create our own games, using Sploder.
After choosing the scenes, the characters, and the actions, we played the games. Lots of fun!

Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Halloween and Plotter

Happy Halloween!
It's time to go trick-or-treating.

We also visited the Maker Space at the Resource Center to learn how to use a Plotter to make Halloween masks.

Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Our Photos

When we go on vacation, we like to take photos of places and people.

Junior 6 - Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Spring Time

In order to celebrate Spring, the students participated in an activity promoted by the Resource Center. They prepared the soil, put it into a seed tray, planted 3 beans each, and sprayed some water for the beans to grow well. They've predicted that, in two weeks, we can see the first sprouts. Every class, we'll water the beans before we start a new lesson. Great job!

One week later ... Unbelievable! The beans have turned into sprouts and into two leaves each.

Two weeks later ...

Junior 6 - Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Our World

Isn't it amazing to see how diverse the geographical features of the Earth are? The students identified different places from magazines, cut them out, and pasted them to a poster, comparing their differences. Have a look!

Junior 6 - Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Starry Night

After reading the story "Goanna and the Moon", an indigenous Australian tale on the origin of the moon, the students were inspired by the artwork of Vincent Van Gogh "Starry Night" to create their own pieces, using gouache paint, brush, and, guess what? Forks! The forks gave the idea of movement to the paintings. Check it out.

Class J66 - Asa Sul - Teacher Domingos - Egyptian Pyramids

During the Unit about Egypt, the students learned a lot of and had a journey into the past. We talked about the hieroglyphics, the Nile river, the temples, the pharaohs, the paintings, the papyrus, and, of course, the pyramids. Here you can see the projects about pyramids the students created, using different materials: Lego blocks, straw, and modeling clay. The one with popsicle sticks didn't work very well, for they had to use hot glue. They saw the real pyramids from above and from the street view on Google Maps to have a clear idea about how to build them.
